LONDON, England — July 13, 2025 — In a moment that shook the heart of Finsbury Park, Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Drake, Central Cee, and MC Nuffy lit up the stage at Rockstar Energy’s Wireless Festival, marking 20 years of the UK’s biggest urban music event.

This was Kartel’s first performance in London in two decades, and the energy was electric from the moment he stepped out, greeted by Nuffy’s iconic shout:

“Who is the King of Dancehall?”

Phones shot into the air. Fans screamed. And then, “Yo Yo!” — Kartel appeared, dripped in a green Nike sweatsuit, decked out in ice, and kicked off the set with his single “Ever Blessed.”

Dancehall Takes Over London

Kartel’s entrance was pure culture: Jamaican flags waved, boom box decor lit the stage, and the vibe? Authentic, raw dancehall. MC Nuffy acted as the spiritual host, while the massive crowd — a blend of UK and Caribbean fans — soaked in every moment.

Midway through his set, Kartel brought out none other than Spice, the Queen of Dancehall. The two performed their hit “Conjugal Visit”, followed by a sultry back-and-forth that had the crowd in awe.

Then came Popcaan, as the two long-time collaborators gave a nostalgic, powerful performance of their iconic track “Clarks.” The duo also shared the stage with Drake later in the night, vibing together during his headline performance.

A Lifestyle Moment, Powered by Unity

Drake, who has long cited Kartel as a major influence, helped bring this historic link-up to life. During his own set, he welcomed Popcaan and Kartel on stage once more — the trio grooved to “Fever”, with Kartel holding court while Drake shouted him out to the London massive.

Also making waves was UK star Central Cee, who kept the Caribbean energy alive, showing love and respect to Kartel and Popcaan while repping London’s own dancehall-rap fusion.

20 Years of Wireless: Culture Meets Legacy

This year’s Wireless Festival wasn’t just another show — it was a celebration of Black music culture, of global unity, and of dancehall’s continued rise on the international stage. And for many fans, the moment was spiritual:

“This isn’t just a performance. This is history,” one attendee told DOJO.
“Seeing Kartel and Popcaan on stage with Drake? Madness. Culture win.”

As Wireless 2025 wrapped up, one thing was clear:
It might’ve been too much greatness for one stage — but it’s a night no one will forget.
