Chaos Unfolds at 4:45 PM in Traverse City Walmart

In a horrifying attack on Saturday afternoon, 11 people were injured during a stabbing spree at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan. Authorities say the incident appeared to be a random act of violence, and a 42-year-old Michigan man is now in custody.

Six of the victims remain in critical condition, with the others classified as serious. The attack reportedly began in the checkout area and lasted under three minutes before the suspect was apprehended.

Citizen Intervention Helped End the Stabbing

Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea confirmed that the suspect used a folding-style knife and acted alone. Though the exact motive remains unclear, the Sheriff credited “citizen involvement” in halting the violence.

“Eleven is 11 too many. But thank God it wasn’t more,” said Sheriff Shea during a press briefing.
