Amy Schumer has confirmed that she and her husband, chef Chris Fischer, have ended their marriage after more than seven years together.
The comedian and actress, 44, shared the news in an Instagram post on Friday, Dec. 12. She described the split as amicable and said the pair will continue to focus on raising their son.

Schumer announced the separation alongside a photo of herself, Fischer, and their son riding the New York City subway.
“Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years,” she wrote. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son.”
However, Schumer kept her trademark humor intact. She mocked traditional celebrity divorce statements by adding several “blah blah blah” lines and joking that the split had nothing to do with her recent weight loss or Fischer’s status as a James Beard Award–winning chef.
She ended the message by calling the breakup loving and respectful, adding, “Family forever.”
How long were they together?
Schumer and Fischer were first linked in 2017 and married in February 2018. They welcomed their son, Gene, in May 2019.
Over the years, Schumer frequently spoke about her marriage in interviews and comedy specials. In her 2019 Netflix special Growing, she revealed that Fischer is on the autism spectrum, a topic she later explored through her Hulu series Life & Beth.
What led to the split?
While speculation has circulated online in recent weeks, a source close to the couple says there is no drama behind the decision.
“There’s nothing ugly,” the source told PEOPLE. “It’s a cohesive split. They’ve just been finalizing a few things.”
Earlier in December, Schumer also addressed rumors directly. She said any outcome in her marriage had nothing to do with her health journey or weight loss.
Where do they stand now?
Despite the separation, both remain committed to co-parenting their six-year-old son. Their last public appearance together was in June at the Tribeca Film Festival.
For now, Schumer has asked for privacy while making it clear that respect and love remain at the center of their family dynamic.
