Los Angeles — Raymond Cruz, 60, best known for his role as Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad, was arrested Monday on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. The incident reportedly occurred while Cruz was washing his car in front of his Silver Lake home.
The Los Angeles Police Department said officers responded to a call about an alleged battery around 10:40 a.m. Cruz was arrested via a private person’s complaint and later released on his own recognizance. He has a court date scheduled for October 1.

Cruz’s agent, Raphael Berko, told Entertainment Weekly the actor did not spray anyone intentionally. He explained the incident involved three women who parked close to Cruz’s car despite his request for them to move. Berko described his client as a private man who has lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years, adding that Cruz “has never even had a jaywalking ticket.”
