Just days before his NFL debut, Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter revealed another life-changing milestone: he and his wife, Leanna, have welcomed their first child.
How they shared the news
On Wednesday, Aug. 27, Hunter and Leanna posted a YouTube vlog titled “Dear Son…” that chronicled their journey from pregnancy to the birth of their baby boy. The video begins with Leanna holding up a positive test and the couple dancing in celebration. Later, she shows sonogram images and recalls a dream she had in February where her baby was “a boy with lots of curly hair.”
Her intuition proved right. By March, the couple confirmed they were expecting a son.
From draft night to delivery room
The vlog also weaves in Hunter’s NFL journey. Viewers see clips of the star cornerback wearing his Jaguars hat on draft night, celebrating the start of his professional career. Later, the tone shifts to intimate moments in the hospital as Hunter supports his wife during labor.
The video ends with the cries of their newborn, followed by the message: “Dear Son, We love you. Love, Mom and Dad.”

A milestone before kickoff
Hunter, 22, and Leanna, 23, met in high school and began dating during his college career at Jackson State and Colorado. They got engaged in early 2024 and married in May. Now, as Hunter prepares for his first NFL season, he’s also stepping into fatherhood.
When asked on camera if he had a message for his son, Hunter replied: “Gotta be better than me.”
The couple has not yet revealed their son’s name or exact birthdate.
