DENVERS, St. Thomas — A grey, newer-model Toyota flew off a bridge in Denvers, St. Thomas, severely damaging the car, injuring passengers, and even striking a cow nearby, according to videos circulating on social media.
What Happened?
The car was seen smoking heavily after the crash, and residents acted fast to help. They not only rescued trapped passengers but also managed to flip the vehicle upright.
Residents Rush to Help
Footage shows the driver inside the smoking vehicle, appearing woozy and somewhat unconscious. Some passengers were wearing seatbelts during the crash.
A woman in a pink blouse and shorts was visibly injured, with blood on her face and head wounds. Rescuers laid her carefully on her side while others used machetes and sticks to pry open doors and extract victims.
Police Arrive on Scene
Officers arrived soon after and were seen loading the injured into a police pickup truck for transport. It is not yet confirmed if there were any fatalities.
