Clips from Dead End resurfaced online after being shared by the conservative account Libs of TikTok, sparking outrage. One viral scene shows Barney, a transgender teenage boy, coming out while another moment features two characters kissing and embracing. Critics argue such content pushes “a woke agenda” on children as young as seven, while supporters say the shows simply reflect real families and promote inclusion.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ Under Fire
Netflix is facing renewed criticism over its children’s programming, with shows like Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous drawing ire for LGBTQ+ representation. The animated series, which concluded in 2022, features a storyline where two characters, Yasmina “Yaz” Fadoula and Sammy Gutierrez, develop a romantic relationship. In the final season, Yaz confesses her feelings to Sammy, leading to a kiss that has sparked controversy among some viewers. Elon Musk Joins the Criticism
Tech billionaire Elon Musk entered the debate this week, blasting Netflix for “pushing pro-transgender” content in programming for kids. Musk told his 226.5 million X followers that he had personally canceled his Netflix subscription after discovering the clip, joining calls for a boycott.
“Same,” Musk wrote in response to a user who posted proof of canceling their account and accused Netflix of employing creators who “celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk.”
Director Controversy Fuels Fire
The creator of Dead End: Paranormal Park, Hamish Steele, was also pulled into the storm after screenshots allegedly showed him referring to conservative commentator Charlie Kirk as a “Nazi” following Kirk’s assassination earlier this month. Steele’s account has since gone private, and the Daily Mail has not independently verified the images.
Critics say Steele’s alleged remarks and the show’s content prove Netflix is hiring creators hostile toward conservatives. Supporters counter that the outrage is politically motivated and ignores the show’s messages about acceptance.

Despite being canceled after two seasons, Dead End: Paranormal Park remains available on Netflix Kids profiles. Meanwhile, Ada Twist, Scientist, produced under the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions, continues to face backlash for its inclusive storyline.
