CeeDee Lamb injury Tyler Booker

CeeDee Lamb Out 3–4 Weeks

The Dallas Cowboys will be without Pro Bowl wide receiver CeeDee Lamb for at least three to four weeks after he suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears. Lamb’s injury occurred with 8:34 left in the first quarter on a carry as a running back when linebacker Noah Sewell landed on his legs, twisting his ankle.

Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Monday, “He’ll miss some time, but CeeDee is a guy who heals quickly, and he will do everything in his power to get back.”

Lamb had started the season with consecutive 100-yard receiving games before being sidelined. He played just six snaps against the Bears and did not record a catch.

Rookie Guard Tyler Booker Also Injured

Rookie right guard Tyler Booker, Dallas’ 2025 first-round pick, is expected to miss four to six weeks due to a high ankle sprain, according to reports. Booker played all 74 offensive snaps against Chicago but will now be sidelined.

Owner and GM Jerry Jones said, “We’re looking at [injured reserve]. We’ll watch it a few more days. We don’t have to decide right now.”

If Lamb and Booker are placed on IR, they would miss at least four games, including matchups against the Jets (Oct. 5), Panthers (Oct. 12), and Commanders (Oct. 19).

Offensive Line Shake-Up

The Cowboys already lost center Cooper Beebe to a broken foot in Week 2, landing him on IR. Rookie left tackle Tyler Guyton missed several weeks during training camp but returned for Week 1. The team now faces multiple lineup adjustments along the offensive line.

Backup options include T.J. Bass, who has started five games in his career, and waiver claim Trevor Keegan, who has yet to play this season.

Adjusting Without Lamb

George Pickens will assume the role of No. 1 receiver in Lamb’s absence. Through three games, Pickens has 13 catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns. Schottenheimer said, “It won’t be too much for George. Injuries are unfortunately part of this business, and it’s hard to replace a guy like CeeDee. But guys got to step up.”

Other receivers available include Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, and Ryan Flournoy.

Looking Ahead

The Cowboys hope to get Lamb and Booker back as soon as possible, but for now, adjustments will be key. Cornerback DaRon Bland is expected to return for Week 4, providing at least some good news for Dallas.
