WASHINGTON, D.C. — The late conservative activist Charlie Kirk will be laid to rest on Sept. 21 at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, where President Trump has confirmed he will attend.
A Family in Mourning
At a private viewing ahead of the funeral, Kirk’s wife was seen clutching his medal and holding his hand as she wept at his casket. Her grief was captured in an emotional moment, as she whispered, “I love you, I miss you so much.”
Now the sole parent of their two young children — a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son — she vowed that her husband’s mission would continue. “They have no idea what they just ignited within this wife. If they thought my husband’s mission was big now, you have no idea.”
Trump to Attend Funeral
Turning Point USA, the organization Kirk founded, invited supporters to join in celebrating his life and legacy. President Trump, who ordered all American flags flown at half-staff until Sunday evening, described Kirk’s killing as a “heinous assassination” during an emotional address to the nation on Wednesday.
What Happened?
Kirk, 31, was shot and killed Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University during his American Comeback tour. A multi-day manhunt ended with the arrest of the suspected gunman, Tyler Robinson, on Friday.
Kirk’s wife later posted online: “The world is evil. The sound of this widow weeping echoes throughout this world like a battle cry. I have no idea what any of this means. But baby I know you do and so does our Lord.”
