Authorities have arrested Tyler Robinson, 22, in connection with the killing. New reports reveal Robinson was living with a transgender partner, Lance Twiggs, who is allegedly cooperating with the FBI investigation.

Kirk was reportedly shot from approximately 200 meters away by a sniper in his neck during an open-air speaking event as part of his “American Comeback” tour. The attack was sudden and left little chance for intervention. He immediately bled out and fell to the ground. Law enforcement conducted a multi-day manhunt, which ended with Robinson’s arrest.
President Donald Trump condemned the shooting in a video posted to social media, saying it is a “Dark moment for America.” Flags across the U.S. were ordered to fly at half-staff in Kirk’s honor.

Authorities confirmed that Robinson was living with Lance Twiggs, a transgender individual in the process of transitioning from male to female.
