DOJO — An Arizona couple turned a burglary into an X-rated crime scene after police say they broke into a Scottsdale restaurant, stole cash and liquor — and then had sex inside the building with security cameras rolling.
What happened?
According to Scottsdale Police, 30-year-old Corrisa Sucanick and 39-year-old Brian Morrow forced their way into Mon Cheri Restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale around 10 a.m. on October 25. Inside, officers say the pair stole an iPhone, liquor, and about $450 from the register while also damaging doors and equipment.
But investigators say the burglary quickly took a bizarre turn.
Caught on camera
Security footage allegedly shows the couple getting intimate inside the restaurant during the break-in — with their faces fully visible on camera. The restaurant’s owners told local media the suspects also scattered roses and ransacked the bar.
“They violated our roses — and we’re just not okay with that,” owner Lexi Kalikin told reporters.
How they were caught
Police say surveillance footage, plus community tips, helped identify the suspects.
Sucanick was arrested November 3, and Morrow was arrested the next day at a Phoenix motel. Both were taken into custody without incident.
What charges they face
Police confirmed the pair were booked on third-degree burglary charges.
Morrow is also charged with possession of burglary tools.
Surprisingly, officers say the couple will not face charges for the sexual activity caught on camera because it “does not meet the criteria for criminal charges.”
