Jets vs Lions: Time, TV Channel and Preview

The Jets vs Lions game is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2026, with a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff at Ford Field in Detroit. Both teams enter Week 3 at 1-1 after contrasting Week 2 results, setting up a pivotal early-season matchup in Detroit.

The Jets are coming off an overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers on September 20, keeping their start reflective of a tight, competitive begin to the season. The Lions, meanwhile, dropped a high-scoring affair to the Buffalo Bills on September 17, leaving Detroit hoping to rebound at home against a familiar conference opponent.

The offensive showings in Week 2 offer a glimpse of the Lions’ potential. Jared Goff threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns in that game against Buffalo, a performance that underscored Detroit’s capacity to move the ball effectively through the air. Amon-Ra St. Brown also played a major role, posting 142 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in the same Week 2 clash. Those numbers illustrate the kind of big-play potential the Lions bring into this matchup as they chase a more consistent showing in Week 3.

For the Jets, the focus will be on how they limit errors and keep pace with a Detroit offense capable of creating explosive plays. With both teams looking to keep their seasons on an even keel, the Week 3 tilt at Ford Field promises to test execution in a high-leverage early-season environment.

What to watch in Week 3

Two 1-1 teams face off in Detroit as they try to establish momentum in the early part of the season. The matchup will hinge on ball control, field position, and taking advantage of scoring opportunities when they arise.

Key players to watch

Goff’s passing rhythm and St. Brown’s big-play ability will be crucial for Detroit, while the Jets will aim to tighten run defense and create pressure to force errors.
