Influencer boxer and streamer Nurideen Shabazz, widely known online as DeenTheGreat, has pleaded not guilty after being arrested in Miami Beach following an alleged altercation aboard a yacht.
According to multiple reports and court filings, Shabazz was charged with attempted strongarm robbery after police said he allegedly tried to take a woman’s cellphone during a confrontation near the 200 block of North Shore Drive in Miami Beach.
Why Was DeenTheGreat Arrested?
Police say the incident began after officers responded to a call involving a woman identified as Destiny Aleman, who claimed she had been removed from a yacht during an argument.
According to the arrest report, Aleman told officers the situation escalated after other men attempted to speak with her. Investigators said Shabazz allegedly warned her not to “entertain anyone else but him” before the confrontation became physical.
Authorities allege that after Aleman exited the yacht, Shabazz attempted to take her cellphone while she was recording the interaction.
Police said the alleged struggle resulted in a minor scratch to the woman’s forearm.
Investigators later reviewed surveillance footage reportedly provided by the yacht owner. According to police, the footage appeared to show Shabazz attempting to grab the woman’s phone while she tried to protect it and move away from the situation.
The report also states that officers observed footage of the woman curled on the ground protecting the device before eventually separating from the confrontation and calling 911.
DeenTheGreat Pleads Not Guilty
Court documents later showed that Shabazz formally entered a written plea of not guilty to the felony attempted robbery charge.
The filing also reportedly requested a jury trial and discovery from prosecutors as the case moves forward through the legal system.
Attorney Richard Cooper, who is representing Shabazz, released a statement following the arrest.
“Mr. Shabazz has had a target on his back for some time now by people wishing to make a name for themselves off of his hard work,” Cooper said in part. “The facts are incomplete so far and we ask for patience.”
What Did Police Say Happened?
According to investigators, officers later detained Shabazz after the yacht returned to the dock.
Police said Shabazz told officers he believed the woman had his phone, which investigators said conflicted with the surveillance footage they reviewed.
Authorities ultimately arrested the 25-year-old streamer and transported him to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.
Reports stated that he was being held on a bond connected to the attempted robbery charge.

DeenTheGreat became known through social media streaming and crossover boxing events connected to the influencer boxing scene.
Fighting under the Misfits Boxing banner, the Tampa native built a following through exhibition and professional boxing appearances against names including Walid Muhsein and David Fogarty.
He later suffered a high-profile loss against Amado Vargas in Dubai.
The case remains ongoing, and no conviction has been announced.
