For the first time in combat sports history, the Octagon is headed to the lawn of the White House.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship officially announced UFC Freedom 250, a historic fight card scheduled for June 14, 2026, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The event will be held on the South Lawn in Washington, D.C., marking the first time a major MMA promotion has staged a card at the presidential residence.
The event also coincides with the 80th birthday of U.S. President Donald Trump, a longtime supporter of the UFC and close ally of UFC CEO Dana White. Their relationship dates back more than two decades, when Trump hosted early UFC events at the now-closed Trump Taj Mahal in the early 2000s.
Now, more than 25 years later, the promotion is bringing its biggest stars to the most famous lawn in America.
Who will be fighting at the White House in June 2026?
Main Event: Ilia Topuria vs Justin Gaethje
The main event will feature a lightweight title unification clash between reigning champion Ilia Topuria and interim champion Justin Gaethje.
Topuria enters the bout undefeated at 17-0, fresh off a stunning first-round knockout of Charles Oliveira that crowned him UFC lightweight champion. The Georgian-Spanish knockout artist previously held the featherweight title and scored signature wins over legends Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski.
After taking time away from competition to handle personal matters, Topuria returns to the Octagon looking to solidify his status as one of the most dominant champions in modern MMA.
Standing across from him will be Gaethje — arguably the most violent action fighter in UFC history.
The Arizona native claimed the interim lightweight title earlier this year by defeating Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324, earning his third opportunity to capture undisputed UFC gold. Gaethje previously challenged for the title against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Oliveira but fell short both times.
Against Topuria, Gaethje will attempt to do what no one else has managed — hand “El Matador” his first loss.
Co-Main Event: Alex Pereira Chases Historic Third Belt
In the co-main event, former two-division champion Alex Pereira moves up to heavyweight to face Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight championship.
Pereira already holds titles at middleweight and light heavyweight, defeating Israel Adesanya and Jiří Procházka during his championship runs. A victory over Gane would make him the first fighter in UFC history to win titles in three divisions.
Gane, meanwhile, remains one of the most technically gifted heavyweights in the sport. The French striker previously challenged for undisputed gold against Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones, and recently fought Tom Aspinall in a bout that ended in a no-contest following an accidental eye poke.
With Aspinall recovering from eye injuries, the interim title fight will determine the next challenger for the undisputed championship.
