South Lake Karate Academy is continuing its long-running impact on martial arts families in Central Florida as the Clermont-based dojo marks more than 25 years of teaching karate, discipline, and personal development.

Founded by Sensei Chad Love, the academy has trained more than 1,000 students throughout its history while building a reputation around traditional martial arts values, structured development, and family-oriented programs.

According to information shared through a recent release covered by USA Today press distribution, the school recently expanded parts of its curriculum to better serve students from early childhood through adulthood.

A dojo focused on more than just techniques

Unlike many modern martial arts gyms built entirely around competition, South Lake Karate Academy emphasizes discipline, confidence, self-control, and personal growth alongside physical training.

Programs are separated by age and experience level, including classes for younger children, teenagers, adults, and families looking to train together.

The academy’s “Core Warriors” youth program focuses on karate fundamentals, self-defense, fitness, and character development for children ages 5 to 12. Meanwhile, the Teen & Adult Warriors program combines martial arts training with conditioning, stress management, and confidence-building.

The school also places major emphasis on respect and mental discipline inside the dojo environment.

Sensei Chad Love reflects on 25 years

Sensei Chad Love, a 6th-degree black belt with decades of martial arts experience, explained that the academy was created to pass down the same structure and confidence martial arts gave him earlier in life.

Over the years, multiple generations of students and families have trained at the Clermont location, with some former students now returning with children of their own.

The academy currently operates out of:

South Lake Karate Academy
245 Citrus Tower Blvd. Suite 202
Clermont, Florida 34711

The school serves students across Clermont and nearby areas including Minneola and Groveland.

Martial arts schools continue shaping local communities

As martial arts schools across the United States continue adapting to younger audiences and modern family schedules, academies like South Lake Karate Academy remain rooted in traditional martial arts philosophy while still offering programs designed for today’s students.

From beginner children’s classes to adult training, the academy continues positioning itself as a place focused on long-term growth both on and off the mat.
