Professional MMA fighter Dustin “Scrappy” Lampros is making headlines outside the cage after helping expose a Florida university student leader who was later arrested in an alleged online child predator sting.

According to reporting originally published by the New York Post, citing Fox News Digital, Lampros worked through his organization, 561 Predator Catchers, which conducts civilian-led online sting operations targeting adults allegedly attempting to meet minors for sex.

Authorities arrested Christian Walden, 22, following one such operation in Delray Beach, Florida.

How the Sting Unfolded

Police say Walden allegedly believed he was communicating online with a 13-year-old boy before arranging to meet at a Home Depot in Delray Beach.

Instead, he was confronted by Lampros, who questioned him on camera while members of his organization documented the encounter before police arrived.

According to court documents cited by Fox News Digital, Walden later admitted to officers that he had arranged the meeting believing he would meet a minor for sexual activity.

He now faces felony charges including:

  • Traveling to meet a minor for an unlawful sexual act
  • Using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony

As with all criminal cases, the allegations remain before the courts, and Walden is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Student Leader Removed from Florida Atlantic University

At the time of his arrest, Walden reportedly served in student government at Florida Atlantic University (FAU).

Following an emergency meeting, fellow student representatives voted to impeach and remove him from his leadership position.

According to the report, Walden had also held leadership roles in several campus organizations and advocacy groups.

Beyond the Cage

Lampros has built a significant social media following by documenting predator sting operations through his organization, 561 Predator Catchers.

The group says it independently investigates suspected online predators before turning evidence over to law enforcement. According to legal experts interviewed by Fox News Digital, such civilian operations are legal in Florida provided they do not coordinate with police beforehand or induce criminal conduct that otherwise would not have occurred.

Final Thoughts

Known inside the cage for his aggressive fighting style, Dustin Lampros has increasingly become recognized for activities outside of mixed martial arts through his work with 561 Predator Catchers.

As he prepares for his next professional bout this July, the veteran bantamweight once again finds himself in the national spotlight, this time for assisting in an investigation that led to the arrest of a former Florida student leader.
