Cambodia is getting a serious moment in combat sports this summer.
The Kombat Grand Prix and World Title Belt Championships lands in Phnom Penh on June 27, 2026, bringing seven fights across two disciplines on one stage.
Organized by Kombat Global, the event will feature Kombat Taekwondo alongside Kombat Kun Khmer, blending modern striking with one of the region’s most historic fighting styles.
Seven fights, focused card
The structure is simple and tight:
- 1 Kombat Taekwondo World Title Belt fight
- 3 Kombat Taekwondo fights
- 3 Kombat Kun Khmer fights
No padding, just a direct lineup built around high level competition. The Taekwondo world title bout sits at the top of the card, while Kun Khmer adds a different layer of intensity rooted in Cambodian tradition.
Why this event matters
This is not just another international card.
It will be the first time Kombat Taekwondo is staged in Cambodia, while also marking the first Kombat Kun Khmer event in Asia under this format.
That combination is intentional. Cambodia is being positioned as more than a host country. The goal is to establish it as a base for future Kombat events and athlete development.
With support from local leadership and the Kun Khmer Federation, the promotion is tying global expansion to regional identity.

Kombat is leaning into Cambodia’s history as part of the story.
“Cambodia’s Kun Khmer is the origin and father of modern Muay Thai,” said Rick W. Shin, referencing the influence of Khmer martial traditions across Southeast Asia.
It is a narrative that connects heritage with a modern, broadcast driven product.
Global distribution in place
The event will air live on national television in Cambodia, with additional international deals still being finalized.
Fans worldwide will also be able to watch through digital streaming on Kombat platforms, expanding visibility for both Taekwondo and Kun Khmer.

KOMBAT continues to expand across multiple disciplines, building a unified structure that includes Taekwondo, Kun Khmer, Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing and MMA.
Cambodia now becomes part of that system.
