Mory “Black Ghost” Kromah successfully defended the GLORY Heavyweight Championship with one of the most spectacular knockouts of the year, stopping Serbian challenger Miloš Cvjetićanin with a devastating jumping scissor knee in the third round at GLORY Collision 9 inside Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands.
The official stoppage came at 1:56 of Round 3, as Kromah closed the show after a competitive opening two rounds.
Mory Kromah Delivers Knockout He Promised at Glory Collision 9
Following a closely contested start to the championship bout, Kromah found another gear in the third round.
The defending champion timed a perfectly placed jumping scissor knee that landed flush, instantly ending the contest and leaving Cvjetićanin unable to continue.
Speaking after the victory, Kromah revealed his game plan was always to find the knockout.
“I asked my trainer if I could begin slowly. He told me, ‘Just come home with a knockout.’ And I did it.”
Kromah also explained that this training camp was one of his best after finally having enough time to recover from injuries suffered before his previous tournament appearance.
Champion Eyes More Heavyweight Challenges
The victory marked Kromah’s first successful defense of the GLORY heavyweight title.
When asked about future opponents, the champion welcomed the possibility of facing Antonio Plazibat, who also scored an impressive knockout victory earlier on the card.
“Me and Plazibat would be a nice fight. I’m ready.”
Kromah also spoke about his long-term ambitions, saying he hopes to build a legacy alongside some of kickboxing’s greatest heavyweight champions.
Cvjetićanin Shows Class in Defeat
Although he suffered a brutal knockout loss, Miloš Cvjetićanin earned praise for his post-fight interview.
The Serbian congratulated Kromah on the victory while encouraging fans never to give up after setbacks.
“Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Never give up. Believe in yourself. Mory is a phenomenal champion and deserved the victory.”
The respectful exchange between both fighters received a positive reaction from fans following the dramatic main event.
Mohamed Touchassie Wins Light Heavyweight Grand Prix
The co-main event saw Mohamed Touchassie capture the GLORY Light Heavyweight Grand Prix title after defeating Donovan Wisse by split decision.
Touchassie advanced through the tournament by defeating reigning champion Bahram Rajabzadeh and Cem Cáceres earlier in the evening before overcoming Wisse in the tournament final.
Antonio Plazibat Returns with Knockout Victory
Former heavyweight title challenger Antonio Plazibat continued his comeback in impressive fashion.
The Croatian stopped Anis Bouzid by knockout in the extra round, immediately putting himself back into the heavyweight title conversation.
A future showdown between Plazibat and Kromah now appears to be one of the biggest fights available in the GLORY heavyweight division.
