Floyd Mayweather Jr. appears to be ramping up preparations for his upcoming exhibition showdown with Mike Zambidis after posting a new training clip to Instagram today.
The undefeated boxing legend shared footage from the gym alongside the caption:
“Love or Hate me, but this is what GOD wanted!”
While Mayweather did not directly reference a specific fight in the post, the timing comes shortly after he officially announced his June 27 appearance in Athens against Zambidis.
Earlier this week, Mayweather confirmed the event by writing:
“It’s official. June 27 – Athens, Greece. History will be made.”
The event will take place at the Telekom Center and is being promoted through Mayweather Promotions and Front Row Fight Series.
Although Mayweather retired from professional boxing with a perfect 50-0 record, the former five-division world champion has continued competing in high-profile exhibition events around the world. His latest training footage quickly drew attention from fans, many noting that the 49-year-old still looks sharp and disciplined inside the gym.
Zambidis, one of Greece’s most recognized combat sports figures, built his reputation through an explosive kickboxing career that featured numerous knockout victories and international titles. The matchup is expected to attract major interest in Greece and across the combat sports community.
