Apple Formula 1 streaming rights

UNITED STATES — Apple and Formula 1® have struck a groundbreaking five-year partnership that will make Apple TV the exclusive home of Formula 1 in the United States beginning with the 2026 season. The deal, valued at around $140 million per year, marks Apple’s boldest move yet into live sports streaming.

What the Deal Includes

Under the agreement, all Formula 1 races — including practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions, and Grands Prix — will stream live on Apple TV as part of its $12.99 monthly subscription. Some races and all practice sessions will also be available for free on the Apple TV app throughout the season.

The partnership expands Apple’s collaboration with F1 following the global success of F1 The Movie, the highest-grossing sports film ever, which earned over $629 million worldwide.

Apple’s Vision for F1 Fans

Apple will integrate F1 content across its ecosystem — from Apple News and Apple Maps to Apple Music, Fitness+, and Apple Sports. The Apple Sports app will feature live updates, leaderboards, and widgets for iPhone users.
F1 TV Premium will remain available in the U.S. but now requires an Apple TV subscription — included at no extra cost.

“We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Formula 1 and offer Apple TV subscribers front-row access to one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports on the planet,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior VP of Services.

A New Era for Formula 1

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali praised the deal as “an incredibly exciting partnership” that will drive the sport’s continued growth in the U.S. and beyond.
ESPN, which previously held the rights at about $85 million per year, will continue to air F1 until the 2025 season ends.

Apple’s deal ensures ad-free streaming, integrated fan experiences, and exclusive access for millions of American fans as the sport gears up for major regulation changes in 2026.
