Alex Pereira has officially completed the heaviest weigh-in of his MMA career.
The former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion tipped the scales at 251 pounds on Saturday ahead of his interim heavyweight title fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250. Gane weighed in at 248 pounds, making Pereira the heavier fighter heading into Sunday’s historic co-main event.
Alex Pereira Makes Heavyweight Debut at 251 Pounds
Pereira’s move to heavyweight comes after championship runs at both 185 pounds and 205 pounds.
A victory over Gane would make “Poatan” the first fighter in UFC history to win championships in three different weight classes, adding another milestone to one of the sport’s most remarkable careers.
Interestingly, Pereira accurately predicted earlier in fight week that he would weigh 251 pounds, matching his estimate exactly on the official scale.
Pereira vs. Gane Official After Successful Weigh-Ins
Both heavyweights comfortably made weight for the interim championship bout.
Official Weights
- Alex Pereira – 251 lbs
- Ciryl Gane – 248 lbs
Neither fighter needed a significant weight cut, allowing both men to arrive healthy for one of the biggest heavyweight fights of the year.
The winner is expected to move on to face undisputed heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall once he is medically cleared to compete.
All Fighters Make Weight for UFC Freedom 250
Every athlete scheduled to compete at the White House event successfully made weight.
Main event fighters Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje both came in at 155 pounds, making their lightweight title unification bout official.
One unusual moment came when Diego Lopes returned to the scale after initially weighing 146 pounds for his featherweight bout against Steve Garcia. Lopes later weighed 154 pounds after rehydrating so he could serve as the official backup fighter for the lightweight title fight if needed.

History Awaits “Poatan”
Pereira’s transition to heavyweight has been one of the biggest storylines leading into UFC Freedom 250.
Already a former two-division UFC champion and one of the most feared knockout artists in combat sports, the Brazilian now has the opportunity to accomplish something no fighter has achieved before—becoming the UFC’s first-ever champion across three weight divisions.
All eyes now turn to Sunday night at the White House, where Pereira’s bid for history begins.
