USA Karate has announced that the 2027 USA Open Karate Championships and Junior International Cup will officially return to Las Vegas next year.
The tournament will run from May 6-9, 2027, at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino and is expected to attract competitors from across the United States and internationally.
What Is The USA Open Karate Championships?
The USA Open Karate Championships is considered one of the top karate tournaments in the United States.
The event features:
- Kata competition
- Kumite competition
- Junior divisions
- Adult divisions
- International athletes
The Junior International Cup will also return as part of the event schedule.
Why Is USA Karate Returning To Las Vegas?
USA Karate CEO Michael Cain said many members wanted the event to return to Las Vegas after previous successful tournaments in the city.
Las Vegas continues to serve as one of the biggest destinations for combat sports events in the United States, hosting major boxing, MMA and martial arts competitions throughout the year.

Athletes from different countries are expected to compete for national recognition in both kata and kumite divisions.
