Who Qualified for the 2026 African Kyorugi Championships?
The African Taekwondo Union has officially published the list of athletes qualified for the 2026 African Kyorugi Championships in Rabat, Morocco.
Qualification was determined through the African Open Series 1 to 6 system. The spots earned through this pathway are strictly nominative. They belong to the athlete who earned them. They cannot be transferred. Division changes are not allowed.
The message from AFTU is clear. Earned means personal.
When Must Federations Confirm Qualified Athletes?
National federations must confirm their athletes before January 31, 2026.
Confirmation must be sent to the President of the Technical Commission. If a federation fails to confirm, the vacant place will be reassigned to the next eligible athlete in the same category from another country, following qualification criteria.
No confirmation means no slot.
What Is the GAL Requirement for the African Championships?
All qualified athletes must hold a valid Global Athlete License.
National Member Associations are responsible for ensuring compliance and completing official registration for the continental championship in Rabat.
No GAL. No competition.
Can Federations Register a Full Team?
Yes.
In addition to nominative quotas earned through the African Open Series, federations retain the right to register a full team of up to eight men and eight women for the 2026 African Kyorugi Championships.
This allows nations to strengthen their delegation beyond AOS qualifiers.
